Project 1: Climate-Smart Vegetable Production

Climate-Smart Vegetable Production helps Micado Kenya grow more food reliably while using water and inputs efficiently and protecting the environment. It produces higher yields, resilience to droughts and floods, improved soil health, and diversified, market-ready vegetables.


Concept

  • Establish a diversified vegetable enterprise (e.g., leafy greens, peppers, tomatoes) using drip irrigation, mulching, and composting.

Project 2: Small-Scale Poultry or Layer Farming

Small-scale poultry (or layer farming) offers fast, reliable returns with manageable investment. The focus is on healthy birds, efficient feeding, good housing, and proper biosecurity to ensure steady egg or meat production.

  • Set up a compact poultry unit (broilers or layers) with proper housing, feeding, vaccination schedule, and waste management.
